Therapeutic Approaches
Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
Dialectical behaviour therapy is an evidence-based therapy that works to develop tolerance to distress, emotion regulation and relationship skills. DBT is often a recommended therapy for individuals with personality disorders, mood/emotion difficulties, eating disorders self-harm and suicidal ideation and substance use challenges.
Eye Movement Desensitisation Reprocessing
EMDR is a structure therapy to support individuals who are impacted by experiences of trauma and related mental health conditions such as PTSD, Complex PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, and pain issues. EMDR helps to process trauma by using bilateral stimulation to process traumatic images, thoughts, emotions and body sensations to reduce the distress and charge that traumatic experiences have in your current life.
Parts Work
Parts work is based on the concept that within each person, there are subpersonalities or parts, that interact with one another. When the tendencies, needs, and drives of these different parts clash, these inner conflicts can create psychological problems. Parts work aims to help people resolve these inner conflicts and help people develop a healthier relationship with themself. Parts work can be a healing exploration for survivors of trauma, childhood adversity and complex grief.
